At last, at last…the works begin!
The large-scale renovation works are finally about to begin. They should have started in November and be over now. But delayed permissions and snowy weather all got in the way of the Council’s plans. However now it is full speed ahead. And the work – to be carried out by contractors, T Loughman – will start on Monday February 22nd. The finishing date is planned to be May 14th.
If you want to find out what is happening when, keep an eye on this blog. It will carry regular weekly updates with an outline of what is due to take place in the coming week. And take a look at the windows of 24-26 Calvert Avenue regularly. They will also display a changing timetable. But they’ll also carry the photographic work of children from Virginia Primary School who will be following and documenting the works as they happen week after week.
The ‘Picturing 100’ project is funded by the Ironmongers Company and led by Evon Gregory and Uli Schade.
