How to make a Wildlife Haven
We’ve just signed up to the London-wide Parks and Green Spaces Network, and liked the current offer to help create wildlife havens and vertical loggeries (whatever they may be). If you are interested, here are details to get your wellies out and follow it up.
Don’t forget to volunteer if you have a Tuesday free
We are now working further up the Greenway towards West Ham – so be sure to meet on time.
Why? We are going to make some wildlife havens along the towpath by the Greenway. We will be constructing vertical loggeries, habitat walls, clearing scrub, litter-picking, sowing meadow mix and planting.
What to bring? Walking boots/wellies, wet weather clothes/sun protection, packed lunch and refreshments. If you have any medical condition that may affect what work you can do, please let the leader know.
What’s in it for me? Great experience, get a certificate of activities completed if you attend regularly, ability to get involved in your local community, make friends, keep fit and a free cup of Tea!
Where? Meet 9.30am at The View Tube (in sheltered gallery outside), nearest station Pudding Mill Lane (DLR) to walk to site. See map at www.theviewtube.co.uk Likely finish time 3.30pm.
If you would like to volunteer another occasional day along the Greenway or are interested in Outdoor Educational volunteering please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or Cairis on 077345 99286 for details.
